Family Breuer-Anthamatten
The foundation stone of the family hotel was laid in 1973. Willy and Astrid Anthamatten-Kalbermatten, together with their siblings, built the Hotel Kristall in the hamlet of Lee (Lehn).
Already 5 years later (1978) the planned 2nd building – the Saphir – was realized. For decades Willy and Astrid, the parents of Rosine, Dominic, Sebastian and Peter-Josef, ran the family business with great dedication and passion.
Necessary renovations were not left out. From 1996 to 2009, for example, all the rooms were renovated in several stages, the wellness area was modernised, the seminar room was renovated and the façade on the south side was brought up to date.
In the last decade, Rosine Breuer (pictured above) took over the management and together with the Board of Directors (Andreas Breuer (pictured right), Dominic Anthamatten, Samuel Anthamatten) the first plans for the major rebuild began in 2019, which was realized in 2021/2022.
The Hotel Kristall-Saphir in Saas-Almagell was completely renovated and partially extended. Outside as well as inside the hotel and restaurant shines in new splendor.
The biggest challenge was the schedule. In late summer 2021, the renovation work was started, and already at Christmas the first guests spent their vacations in the newly renovated hotel. The restaurant was extended by a new annex, the rest remained unchanged in size.
Nevertheless, the hotel is hardly recognizable. The new à la carte restaurant “1659” found its place in the newly designed multi-room. The rooms were newly furnished and implemented by a coherent color and material concept. Lots of light, warmth and natural materials exude a pleasant and cozy atmosphere.
